The Dog Lounge is an independent dog and cat grooming salon in Leamington Spa, created with a simple idea in mind: grooming should feel considered, personal and individual.
Every animal is different, not only in coat type or breed, but in temperament, confidence, tolerance and the way they respond to being handled. That is why we work on a one-to-one basis and shape each appointment around the pet in front of us.
There is no production-line approach here. We allow the time needed to groom properly, thoughtfully and with attention to detail.
For us, a good groom is not only about the finished result. It is also about how that result is achieved. Comfort, wellbeing and trust matter just as much as technique, styling and presentation.
We also believe in honest advice. Not every style suits every coat, lifestyle or grooming routine, and sometimes the kindest or most practical option is not the most obvious one. Our role is to help owners make informed decisions while always keeping the individual animal at the centre of them.
The Dog Lounge was created to offer a quieter, more personal kind of grooming experience, where quality is never rushed and every appointment is treated with care.
No two pets are the same, and we do not groom as though they are.

I’m Natasha, the founder and groomer behind The Dog Lounge.
I created The Dog Lounge as an independent grooming salon offering one-to-one dog and cat grooming in Leamington Spa, with a focus on providing a professional, personal and welcoming service.
As an owner-run business, I’m involved in every part of the salon, from the appointments themselves to the day-to-day running of The Dog Lounge. This means clients always know who they are leaving their pet with and who they are speaking to throughout their experience with us.
I’m very proud to be bringing The Dog Lounge to Leamington Spa and look forward to welcoming both new and returning clients to the salon.

At The Dog Lounge, every groom is built around your dog’s comfort, safety and trust. To help us deliver a consistently exceptional experience for every client, we ask all guests to read and follow the policies below.
Booking & Cancellations
We hold each appointment exclusively for your dog, so last-minute changes affect both our groomers and other clients waiting for a slot.
• We kindly ask for at least 24 hours’ notice to cancel or reschedule your appointment.
• Cancellations made with less than 24 hours’ notice, and no-shows, may be charged a cancellation fee.
• A deposit may be required to confirm new client bookings.
Arrivals & Collection
• Please aim to arrive on time. If you’re running more than 15 minutes late, we may need to rebook your appointment, as it could affect the rest of our day’s schedule.
• You’ll be given an estimated collection time when you drop off. We ask that dogs are collected promptly, as late collection may incur an additional charge.
Health & Vaccinations
For the wellbeing of every dog in our care, all dogs must be up to date with vaccinations, and free from fleas and ticks, prior to their appointment. We may ask for proof of vaccination. If fleas or ticks are found on the day, an additional charge will apply and we may ask you to reschedule once the issue is under control.
Matted Coats
Matting can be uncomfortable and, if left untreated, can affect your dog’s skin and welfare. In line with the Animal Welfare Act 2006, where a coat is too matted to be safely brushed out, we will need your permission to shave the coat down for your dog’s comfort and health. An additional charge applies where this is required.
Aggressive Behaviour & Safety
We treat every dog with patience, but the safety of our team and other dogs in the salon comes first.
• Please let us know in advance if your dog has ever shown aggression or has bitten someone. Withholding this information may result in the groom being stopped and charged in full.
• Where necessary, we may use a comfortable, well-fitted muzzle to keep your dog and our groomers safe. This is a calming aid, not a punishment.
• We reserve the right to refuse or stop a groom, at any time, if a dog poses a safety risk to itself, our team, or others in the salon. In this case, the full grooming fee remains payable.
• If your dog bites or causes injury or damage during their visit, you agree to be responsible for any related medical, veterinary or repair costs.
Unwell Dogs, Pregnancy & Dogs in Season
For the wellbeing of every dog in our care, we’re unable to groom dogs who are unwell, pregnant, or bitches currently in season. If this applies on the day of your appointment, please let us know as early as possible so we can rebook without a cancellation charge.
Before You Arrive
• Please ensure your dog has had the chance to relieve themselves before their appointment.
• We recommend not feeding your dog for 30 minutes prior to their groom.
• Please bring your dog on a secure lead or in a carrier.
Our Approach to Grooming
We believe a great groom is one your dog feels safe in, not just one that looks good. We practise consent-based grooming — your dog’s comfort always comes first. If a groom becomes too stressful to continue safely, we’ll pause, adapt our approach, or split the session across a second visit, rather than push through. This may mean a groom takes a little longer, or is completed over more than one appointment, particularly for senior, anxious, or heavily matted dogs.
Payment
Payment is due in full at the time of collection. We accept cash, card, and bank transfer.
Photography & Social Media
We love celebrating our clients! From time to time we may photograph your dog during their visit to share on our website and social media. If you’d prefer your dog’s photos aren’t shared, just let us know and we’ll make a note on your file.
Your Privacy
Your details and your dog’s grooming history are kept securely and are never shared with third parties without your consent, in line with UK data protection law.
By booking an appointment with The Dog Lounge you confirm that you have read and agreed to the policies above. If you have any questions, we are always happy to talk them through with you.
Our Approach to Pricing
At The Dog Lounge, every groom is tailored to the individual dog.
Breed and size give us a useful starting point, but they do not always tell the whole story. Two dogs of the same breed can have completely different coats, grooming routines, temperaments and styling requirements, which can make a significant difference to the time needed for their appointment.
The prices below are therefore starting prices, based on a dog attending on a regular grooming schedule, with a coat in a manageable condition.
Your dog’s final price will reflect their size, coat type and density, coat condition, chosen style and the time required to complete their groom comfortably and safely.
Where we expect an appointment to require significantly more time than usual, we will always try to let you know in advance.
Additional Grooming Time
Some dogs simply need more time.
This may be because of an especially thick or dense coat, a longer style, extensive scissoring, an overgrown or matted coat, or because the dog benefits from a slower pace and additional support during their appointment.
Additional grooming time is charged at £20 per 30 minutes.
For dogs whose grooming needs regularly require longer appointments, the price may be agreed individually rather than adding an additional charge at every visit.
Full Groom & Style

Puppy Introduction Groom
A puppy’s early grooming experiences can shape how they feel about grooming for years to come.
Our Puppy Introduction Groom is designed to gently introduce your puppy to the salon environment, grooming equipment, being handled and the different sensations involved in professional grooming.
The aim of the appointment is not perfection. It is about helping your puppy build confidence and positive associations with grooming.
Depending on your puppy’s age, coat and confidence, their appointment may include bathing, gentle drying, brushing, nail trimming, paw handling, ear cleaning and a light tidy around the face, feet or hygiene area where appropriate.
We always work at your puppy’s pace and will never expect them to tolerate an entire adult grooming routine immediately.

Coat Condition & Matting
Your dog’s comfort and wellbeing will always come before preserving coat length.
Small tangles may sometimes be carefully worked through where this can be done safely and comfortably. However, we will not subject a dog to prolonged or uncomfortable dematting simply to maintain a particular hairstyle.
If a coat is significantly matted, clipping the coat shorter may be the safest and kindest option.
Where possible, we will discuss this with you before proceeding.
Matted, heavily overgrown or exceptionally dense coats can considerably increase grooming time. Where additional time is required, this is charged at £20 per additional 30 minutes.
In some circumstances, severe matting may mean that a different style is necessary for your dog’s welfare.
Longer Coats & Specialist Styling
Longer styles require more coat maintenance and generally require more grooming time.
Dogs kept in longer, fuller styles, dogs requiring extensive hand scissoring, or dogs with particularly dense coats may therefore be priced above the standard starting price for their size.
We will always be happy to discuss the style you would like and the maintenance required to keep it comfortable and achievable between appointments.
Dogs Who Need a Little More Time
No two dogs experience grooming in exactly the same way.
Some dogs are confident and relaxed throughout their appointment, while others may need additional reassurance, breaks or a slower approach.
We will never rush a dog simply to fit them into a fixed appointment time.
If your dog consistently requires a significantly longer appointment, we may recommend booking additional time for future visits. This allows us to continue working patiently and one-to-one while keeping the experience as comfortable as possible.

Regular Grooming
Regular grooming is not only about appearance.
Keeping your dog on an appropriate grooming schedule helps us maintain their coat comfortably, reduces matting and makes each appointment more familiar and predictable for them.
The ideal schedule will depend on your dog’s coat, chosen style and what you are realistically able to maintain at home.
We will be happy to recommend a grooming schedule following your dog’s first appointment.
A Note About Prices
The prices shown on our website are intended as a guide and represent our starting prices.
Every dog is individual, so the final grooming price may vary according to:
size, coat type, coat density, coat condition, coat length, chosen style, grooming frequency and the time required for the appointment.
Where a dog’s grooming requirements are significantly different from those normally expected within their size category, an individual price may be agreed.
Our aim is to keep our pricing fair and transparent while allowing us to give every dog the time and attention they need.
